The name FAZA translates as 'fresh breeze' and like a breath of fresh air this is now the station began...
Radio FAZA is a torchbearer for all Asian women in Nottingham. Our aim is to provide a broad platform to promote important local community issues and actively promote Asian women as a positive and dynamic force in British society today.Radio Faza was born out of the Kiran Media Project. AWP had previous experience in managing a community radio station due to running 3 RSL Licences in August 2000, February 2001, and August 2002. The Radio Authority invited organisations all over England to apply for the Radio Access Pilot scheme licence, over 200 groups applied. Consequently, we were one of the 15 organisations who were successful in securing the Access Radio licence.
Radio Faza has been on air since March 2002. Many local people have taken part in this initiative, young and old alike. Volunteers are always welcome to take part in presenting a programme or work on the reception, provide technical support etc.Radio FAZA is committed to the following ideals:· Uniting local Asian communities and their families who are socially excluded due to language, culture or unemployment barriers.· Empowering the Asian community, enabling people to easily access information, education and training.· Raising awareness of issues concerning Asian people and playing an active role within society. What we do at Radio FAZA:
